Zefmi is a dictation app operated by FASTCLOUD (UEN 53428940A), Singapore ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your voice, your text and your account details when you use Zefmi. Questions: support@zefmi.com.
The short version
Your audio passes through our server to a speech provider and is never stored on our servers.
Your dictation history stays on your device.
Our servers keep your account details and word counts, not what you said.
We do not sell your data and we do not train AI on your words.
What we collect
Account details. Your email address, your plan, your subscription and the devices you have signed in on, so we can apply your plan.
Usage counts. How many words and minutes you dictate each day and month, so we can apply your allowance. We count your words; we do not keep them.
Crash reports and usage statistics. The app has switches for these in Settings. When they are on, the app sends technical information that helps us fix problems. You can turn them off at any time.
Support emails. Whatever you send to support@zefmi.com.
What happens to your voice
When you hold your key, the app records your voice and sends it over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes it straight on to our speech provider. Our server handles the audio in memory only and never saves it. The speech provider turns the audio into text and sends the text back.
If clean-up is on, the text is then sent through OpenRouter to an AI model that removes fillers and adds punctuation. The cleaned text comes back to the app and is typed at your cursor.
On your device, the app keeps your recent recordings for 7 days by default so you can replay them. You can change this to 1 day or off in Settings. Your dictation history is also kept on your device, and you choose how long to keep it.
The providers we use
AssemblyAI: speech to text.
Deepgram: speech to text, used as a backup if AssemblyAI is unavailable.
OpenRouter: sends the clean-up step to Google Gemini, or to OpenAI as a backup. Before launch we are setting OpenRouter to use only providers that do not use your data for training.
Cloudflare: hosting for our website and servers.
Each provider handles your data under its own terms. Before Zefmi goes on sale we are setting each speech provider to its shortest data retention and to no use of your data for training, and this section will list the final settings.
We may change providers to keep Zefmi working well. When we do, we will update this list.
What we do not do
Sell your data.
Use your audio or text to train AI.
Show you ads.
Keep your audio on our servers.
How long we keep things
Account details and usage counts: while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account data within 30 days. Support emails: as long as we need them to help you.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data by emailing support@zefmi.com. We handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), and we will also answer requests made under other laws that apply to you, such as the GDPR.
Children
Zefmi is not meant for children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell account holders by email.
