Dictation for lawyers who write all day
Hold a key, speak, and clean text appears in Outlook, Word or your case system. Zefmi is a general dictation app: it has no legal vocabulary, so the privacy facts below are what it offers.

What happens to your words
Confidentiality matters in your work, so here is exactly what Zefmi does with your voice and text.
Security and privacy in full- Our relay does not store your audioYour voice goes through our relay to AssemblyAI (Deepgram is the backup). The relay keeps no audio or text and logs status codes only.
- Your history stays on your deviceYour dictation history is kept on your computer. Our servers keep word counts, not what you said.
- We do not train AI on your wordsThe clean-up step goes through OpenRouter with data collection set to deny, so it only uses providers that do not log or train on prompts.
- No legal vocabulary or certificationsZefmi has no legal word list and no compliance certifications. Check your firm's rules, and check names and citations before you send.
Work in English and Cantonese?
Zefmi understands English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Cantonese and Mandarin are on the one plan.
Questions
How dictation software works, and what Zefmi does and does not do: dictation software explained.
Does Zefmi know legal terms?
It has no legal vocabulary. It types what the speech service hears, so check case names and citations before you use the text.
Does it work in Word and Outlook?
Zefmi types at your cursor, so it works in Word, Outlook and most other places you can type on Windows.
Do you keep my audio?
Not on our relay. The app keeps recent recordings on your own computer for 7 days by default; you can change that to 1 day or off.
Can I dictate in Cantonese?
Yes, on the one plan. See Cantonese speech to text.
Does it work offline?
No. Zefmi needs an internet connection, because the speech recognition runs online.
Ready to stop typing?
