What Zefmi does and does not do.
What is Zefmi?
A voice dictation app for Windows (Mac, iPhone and Android coming). Hold a key, speak, and clean text is typed into the app you are using, in English, Cantonese or Mandarin.
Does it work offline?
No. Zefmi needs an internet connection, because the speech recognition runs online.
Windows 11 already has voice typing. Why use Zefmi?
Windows voice typing (Win+H) is free. Zefmi adds AI clean-up or a Word for word mode, and one shortcut that works the same in every app. See Zefmi vs built-in dictation.
Does it work in ChatGPT?
Yes. Zefmi types at your cursor, so it works in ChatGPT, email, chat, documents and your browser.
Is there a Mac, iPhone or Android version?
Not yet. Zefmi runs on Windows now. Mac, iPhone and Android are coming, with no date yet.
Does it transcribe recordings or meetings?
No. Zefmi types as you speak. It does not turn audio files or voice notes into text.
Does it rewrite what I said?
AI clean-up removes fillers, repeats and false starts and adds punctuation. Word for word keeps every word. See how the clean-up works.
Does it understand my accent?
We have not measured accents yet. Try it on your own voice in the 14-day free trial; that is the honest test.
Can I use it in an open office without talking out loud?
No. Zefmi needs your voice.
Do I have to say my password out loud?
No. Zefmi never reads password fields. Type passwords yourself.

Which languages does Zefmi understand?
English, Cantonese and Mandarin, all on the one plan.
Can I mix Cantonese or Mandarin with English in one sentence?
Not promised yet. Speak one language at a time for the best results.
Does it type Traditional or Simplified Chinese?
Zefmi has no Traditional or Simplified switch yet. The characters you get are what the speech model writes. Tell us which you need.
Does it support Japanese, Indonesian or Thai?
Not yet. You can join a waitlist: Japanese, Indonesian or Thai.

How much does Zefmi cost?
US$5 a month, one plan.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. 14 days from your first dictation, 10,000 words, 1 device.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Your first payment is refundable within 14 days if you email support@zefmi.com.
Is Zefmi better than Dragon?
It depends on what you need. Dragon has voice commands and specialist vocabularies; Zefmi has neither. See the Dragon comparison.
Privacy

Do you keep my audio?
Not on our relay. The app keeps recent recordings on your own PC for 7 days by default.
Is my voice used to train AI?
No. We do not train AI on your words, and each speech or AI provider's own policy is linked on the security page.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. How account deletion works is in the privacy policy.
