How it works
A Slack message box is a text box like any other, so system-wide dictation can type into it. See dictation in any app for how that works.
With free tools
- Windows: click in the message box, press Win+H and speak. See Microsoft's voice typing guide.
- Mac: click in the message box and start Apple Dictation. See how to use dictation on Mac.
With Zefmi
- Click in the message box or a thread reply.
- Hold your Zefmi key, speak, let go.
- Read it and press Enter.
Zefmi types at the cursor in any app where you can type. Its AI clean-up removes filler words, so quick spoken messages read like typed ones.
Tips
- Type @mentions and channel names by hand; they are quicker that way.
- For longer updates, say it all in one go and edit afterwards.
